Lake
Poinsett Cabin Rental ~ Area Activities
Boating, Fishing and other Water Fun
Fishing, boating, and water sports are the
activities of choice at the lake. Even
if you don’t have a boat you can always fish off the dock and who knows, you
may even land a state record walleye or bass. There is a sandbar straight out
from the cabin that is a hotspot for Northern Pike. Just north of that sandbar is another that is
a known hotspot for walleye. For more info on fishing Lake Poinsett including a
map of the lake, go to the “About the Lake” page. Don't forget your fishing
pole!
Restaurants and Nightlife
There are several places to eat and enjoy a drink
by the lake on the south side of Lake Poinsett.
There are docks available to take the boat to the majority of these
places. The food is great and the views are even better!
Lake Region Golf Club
Lake Region Golf Club is a challenging 18-hole golf
course located on the west side of the lake between Lake Albert and Lake
Poinsett. LRGC was constructed in 1967 with mature trees and landscaping and
beautiful views of Lake Albert. They offer a full modern clubhouse with cart
and club rentals as well as a full bar and grill. They do take tee time
reservations over the phone. For more information visit their web site. You will find a link on the links page.
Lake Poinsett State Park
The park is just a short walk down the road to the
south of the cabin. If you enter on foot
or bike it is free to enter. If you
enter by car you will need to pay an entrance fee. There are many things to do
in the park including the Lake Poinsett museum, scenic hiking trails, a disc
golf course, basketball, sand volleyball, amphitheater events, and of course
many picnic areas. Click on the links below to view maps of Lake Poinsett state
